Several prestige sister and brother running clubs from NY and NJ were cordially invited to venture and conquer the notoriously hilly yet racer-obsessed “Northern Slope”. About 80 proud runners attended in their team jerseys and greeted each other.  \nThe custom-designed course overlooked the beautiful Hudson River from the top of a 7.4-mile rolling cliff from Fort Lee to Alpine NJ. Our runners and cyclists were attracted by the scenery view and the intermediate climb challenges. New records of both distance and elevation had been set!  \nThis was not the typical weekend group run. The runners were amazed by the well-thought-out services and amenities prepared by the organizers and volunteers: (icy) water and snack stations on route\, corralled waves tailored to meet various runners’ goals\, private-car “shuttle” services to send runners from the finish back to the start line\, as well as a generous and healthy post-run breakfast feast.
